Last week the gates were left opened with no one on the allotments. As many of you will know, prior to COVID, we always had to keep the bottom gate locked at all times (even when we were on the allotments).
The landowner gave us special reprieve from always locking the gates to allow us to keep the gates open, as long as someone was on the allotments. However, if you are the last person on the allotment, then BOTH gates must be shut and locked upon leaving.
Any lack of adherence to this policy can result in us losing this wonderful privilege and resorting back to always keeping the bottom gate locked.
Remember – when in doubt, LOCK.
